ok, so here are a few observations that i’ve made about england in the short timespan between getting off of the plane in london to finally arriving in coventry:
1. the british drive weird cars, most of them being a lot smaller than our cars. what are vauxhalls??? although i will admit that if i were to ever buy an american car, i’d buy a ford ka (edit: even though it just sounds like a new jersey-type of “car”). couple other pics here and here.
2. national express (coach) drivers are shite. or at least the one i had was.
3. it always looks like it’s on the verge of raining in london (and in coventry it doesn’t just LOOK like it’s going to rain, it actually DOES rain). :/ EDIT: (nono, i was wrong, it rains in london too….)
4. roundabouts are hell on my stomach, unless i’m sleeping. although it was difficult with the driver that i had.
5. it’s really easy to spend £100 and equate it with $100, but really it’s $188. shopping isn’t so fun when the currency exchange isn’t in your favor.
ok, so all of this sounds really negative, but in all reality, i’m having a total blast. steve ROCKS! i’m all jet-lagged and stuff (well, not too bad really, tho it’s my first night), and in addition, i’m easily amused. we just have to walk through a grocery store and i’m having fun. XD
Vauxhalls are Chevys!
I had no idea what they were either and why they had the same name as ‘OUR’ cars… so I asked and looked like a complete idiot.
Not that it is hard for me to do that
but did you ask for vauxhall floormats? XD
Oh hey.. that was a low blow! And not the kind most people enjoy!!
