adam bought me these really kick-ass wolford tights…well, 2 pairs actually, well….ok, i have 5 pairs of strumpfhose (german for “tights”) from him now.
i wore the newest addition yesterday along with my fuzzy boots i bought in london and a shorter skirt and a nice sweater. i felt very un-cincinnatian in my dressage yesterday, mostly because i was not wearing anything that was purchased at the gap or banana republic. i got a lot of interesting looks from people, even a few snorts of laughter from some girls in the copy room at work. i made sure to smile sweetly at them as i walked out of the room. but although (apparently) some people thought i might have looked silly, it’s rare that i have the occasion to feel like i look damn good, and i did that day (not so much LOOK damn good as FEEL like i looked damn good), so i couldn’t really give two shits about anyone that thought otherwise. i don’t typically dress to impress people around me as much as myself.
so i had to go into work for an hour or so, and then i walked around downtown taking pics, then went to my friends kate and carly’s apartment where we then went to the contemporary arts center for a valentine’s day love-fest or something akin to that. there were people “artfully arranged in public displays of affection” throughout the gallery, and i actually got a pic of one of the couples making out.
fun stuff. (i asked them if they minded first; they said “no” as it was all part of the exhibit.) i took so many photos of things that i probably shouldn’t have taken; if the staff at the gallery knew this, they probably would have kicked me out.
and of course, the heartless bastards were playing, which is why i wanted to go in the first place. kate and carly were going to meet up with some friends later, so we had just enough time to catch a few songs, which is all i really wanted to do anyway. it worked out perfectly. all told, i had a really good night.
must remember to check out the contemporary arts center when i have more time.
