on october 21st, associated press conjectured that obama’s grandmother, 85, might not make it to see the results of the election. and unfortunately, she won’t. i got this text at 10:30pm from lynne:
Oh no! Barack Obama’s grandma has died
I find that heartbreaking. Just one more day & she’d have probly seen her boy win.
history has already been made in this election, by the simple fact that a black man is running for president on a major ticket, and that a woman is running for vice president. but what a loss, because if all of the polls are even close to being accurate, then obama’s grandmother just barely missed a monumental occasion in american history. good for obama for taking time out from the campaign trail at such a crucial time to visit his grandmother. condolences to the obama family.
