Hello!! I’m from Mexico and Yann Tiersen was here two years ago and unfortunately I couldn’t assist to any of this 2 concerts. Thanks to facebook and the updates of your idols, I noticed that he would have this tour in Canada and US. OMG you can’t imagine how crazy I was because the dates were the same that I would be on vacations in Montreal, the next thing that I did that day was call my friend who I would visit and told him this great news; Yann Tiersen will be there, can you believe it??? and he said what?? who is him? So I only replied do you want to come with me??? He agreed and next day I bought my tickets, 6 weeks before. I went to Club Soda in Montreal on april 18th and I can say that it was not what I expected but I can say that it was one of the best concerts I have ever gone in my entire life. The concert was sold out and the friends of my friend asked me when did you get your tickets??? and I said in March and they complained that they couldn’t go, I felt a little selfish but I didn’t care that they couldn’t make it because my dream finally would come true. He is simply amazing.

nice! it’s possible we were right next to each other…i was with my friend; we were the ones annoying everyone around us by wading through the crowds every half hour. damn the beer!

There is a CD/DVD combo called Yann Tiersen On Tour which does have most of the songs that you heard at the Chicago concert in the same style…La Terrasse, Kala, A Secret Place, Le Quartier (or was that just in Denver?), Sur le fil, Le Train, Western, Esther and Amélie (electric guitar version). You must have been to my left!

love the shins. the more you tell me, the more i’m kinda pissed that i missed the show. bleh. next time, i suppose.

i thought the same about yann tiersen. he’s probably in his 40s, so not so young, but young enough to still get away with rockin’ a “my bloody valentine” tee.

now that i think about it more… add the shins to that list of “bands that of montreal sounds like.” and i figured yann tiersen would be an old and very typical “classical musician.” great to see young folks rockin’ the pretty stuff as well.
